After my big weekend I was looking forward to a day of doing nothing & it's been the perfect tonic. It started out with staying in bed til noon. I'd given myself permission to stay in bed all day, but hunger pulled me out of the soft nest toward the kitchen. Then a walk to get the blood moving, good idea! Once home, I had the house to myself, so sat at the dining room table and got lots of little projects done.
Best of all, I plugged my iPod into it's great sounding dock and played my favorite songs while I caught up on paperwork. I'm such a bureaucratic junkie; I love getting my stuff in order. In the middle of it, I made it into an absolutely perfect experience by brewing a big cuppa and hauled out my new stash of Mark's biscottis. Lara gave them to me with the clear expectation that I wouldn't just munch away with abandon. Nope, I am supposed to dip them in my tea. So I complied and what a heavenly experience. I could not be much prouder of my pastry chef son, Mark, and following his and his wife's journey to selling their wonderful goodies has been a joy.
Next week they'll probably have their on-line sales up and running. In the meantime, I snuck in a special order so that I could take these little gems to my book club. I'm in charge of snacks and thought it would be amazing to premiere these for my bookie friends. By the way, our book is Mermaid Chair, one of my faves.
I just found a neat little link to MOO on flickr, by the way, and couldn't resist. I ordered 100 mini cards. On one side is just my name and phone # etc., the other side is a photo. I gave them about 30 of my nature pictures from the nature set at flickr. Wow. They're going to be beautiful.
