A relaxing Sunday

After a relatively busy week, I'm ready to hunker down with a good book (Street of a Thousand Blossoms). There's nothing I like better than endless hours of uninterrupted reading with just the sounds of the wind blowing through the trees. The sun is streaming in the bay window, keeping me warm. No appointments, meetings, anything. It's heaven.

Yesterday I had 2 friends over and we cooked Ethiopian food all afternoon. It was great having it fresh and hot on our plates, but it was so much prep that by the time I sat down to eat, I wasn't able to to savor it. I can't wait to eat it for dinner tonight. In fact, I think I'll even make more injera. I like this version a lot, even though it's not authentic at all...it still is functional for picking up the food with your fingers and it's very light.

This a.m. I found a new blog, orangette, and within it, a recipe for my newest favorite hot chocolate. I just had some, supposedly to warm myself, but more to experience what promised to be a great mouth experience. And it delivered. This is a blog I'd recommend to everyone. Her writing is engaging and whimsical yet serious. Her recipes so far are excellent.

Ok, enough already. My book is calling to me.
