The Shanghai Tunnel

I like this new craze going around called "The book closest to you." The instructions are:

"Grab the book closest to you. Go to page 56. Find the 5th sentence. Write that sentence."

So I grabbed the book to my left that I want to finish tonight, The Shanghai Tunnel, a historical novel about early Portland, OR, days. Here's the 5th sentence on page 56:

Robert needed to believe that.
