Now I know what Dan means about living with me is like riding a roller coaster. (hmf) My sympathies go out to him now that I'm the one that's gotta live with the roller coaster. But it's been a good ride...so much is getting done I just can't believe it:
Brian and Kasi came over today and took out carpet and all furniture from the master bedroom. So that they could put in my new floor tomorrow!!!!
And I have to get the new floor because I have a new bed coming Saturday!!!
And I have a new bed coming Saturday because Mark et al are coming on the 17th. Yay!
Am having the house painted.
I have cortisone shots in a knee and an ankle. Maybe now I can WALK again.
Tomorrow I will not have excruciating pain in the damn fool knee and will dispense with the 1,001 books on my living room floor.
So it's all pretty good. But get this....I just had the most amazing meal I've had in a very long time. Marie and I went to Cicada (see-kay-da) tonight. I groaned throughout the meal; Marie kept clapping her hands together in delight. Here's what we had:
** fried green tomatoes with a shrimp remoulade.
** lamb ribs (Marie) with fried peach chunks
** sturgeon (me), slaw made of cabbage, asparagus, small slivers of green apple and a dressing of lemon juice and olive oil. I could've kept eating that all night. Oh, and a potato salad with horseradish. Little cubes of potatoes threw me off. It was very not potato salad-y and the best one I've ever had.
** after all that we might've been too full for dessert until the waitress talked up the pastry chef so much that we thought better of passing it by. We shared a flourless chocolate almond cake. Lots of moaning from both sides of the table by then. It was slightly warm, the chocolate was perfect, the little tiny pieces of crushed almonds were just right. And the whipped cream definitely did not come out of an aerosol can.
We're both looking for a good excuse to go back next week. On my birthday I'm thinkin'. And since that's the day Mark et al get to Oly I just think we might pull it off. Mmmm mmm.
