First of all, this is a picture of old friend, Susan, with her granddaughter, Lila, who has my birthday. Susan hasn't changed a bit. I love this picture.
Now, as for today: it was such a great day...got up full of energy at my usual early hour, with no magnet pulling me back into bed. I dove right into my chores and got a lot done. With Dan and Lucy gone, the house is quiet, neat and tidy....AND it stays that way. I told Dan he couldn't come home for a while because i want some more peace and quiet!
I got 2 hilarious birthday cards...only one was about getting old. I wrote right back to that guy and told him a thing or 2. Like he's not far behind me, etc. Geez, when are the youngsters going to remember that they end up right where we are? Like I did. right.
It feels really good to re-connect with old friends, doesn't it? It seems if I go too long unconnected, i kinda wither. whatever the hell that means.
Salmon runs have begun and I will begin my salmon stewarding in about a week. Will take pictures of the crowds watching the salmon and try to get a salmon or two as well. Not sure if they will jump out of the water on command, but I'll give it a shot.
I need inspiration for something good and summery to make in the kitchen. For dinner or lunch. Anyone have any ideas?
