Catching up

Yes, it's fall here in Olympia. I took this foliage picture with my iPhone camera...love it. But I stopped in the middle of the street to take it. Gotta watch that spontaneous photography. At least I remembered to turn on emergency blinkers.

And there's Kerry with Mia. Kerry came to visit while I was in Brooklyn. We hadn't seen each other in years so had a lot of catching up to do in a short time. Unfortunately, Mia needed a fresh audience. She didn't get the attention she needed, nor did we get all the catching up done. But I think we all got enough to hold us for a while. I can't wait to see Mia on the stage...letting all that performance energy have free rein! She can't decide between opera and ballet so says she'll do both.

Am thinking about going back to Brooklyn again in December. It had started to feel like a traditional trip so I didn't want to break the pattern. However, on this last trip, I got very tired and came home exhausted. When I realized that this was also a pattern, I wondered about how to make these treks in a healthier way. Mark and I talked about it a little...it seems I can slow down and still be of some 'gramma' type help. (He says cooking dinner is a big help. Can you imagine, cooking for a chef? He says he LOVES it when people cook for him. OK then.)

Can't believe that my flu is not all gone. Still feeling run down and sniffly. Fortunately, this wasn't a bad flu, it's just lasting a long time.
