To write or not to write?

I have been avoiding this blog for a while, wondering just what I want to put into the public realm. Should it be strictly for upbeat news? Or can I sometimes just tell it like it is? Even when I feel crappy. Then I would wonder (if there are any readers at all) do readers only want happy?

All my life I've had a pesky problem with depression but don't write about it here because, well, it's depressing. So I just go underground while I wait for it to pass. Then today I read an email that gave me the answer I was looking for:

Writing about your positive experiences can do more than put you in a good mood. A study on writing and health published last week in the medical journal Psychology and Health suggests that the feel-good effects of positive writing carry over into boosting your physical well-being as well.

So I will use this blog as my receptacle for positive writing. Not only will it spare you the doom and gloom but it apparently is going to do me some good to write about ... positive experience.

Here goes: I will be getting new art for the walls soon! They are going to really make this place all lively and settled in-looking. One of the artists I somehow found on-line: Justin Vining. The painting I bought is a reasonable price for original art, and I'm glad I did it when I did because I'm noticing the prices on his remaining works are much more expensive. Maybe he got famous really fast.

Here's his home page. If you want to see my painting, click anywhere on the page to see thumbnails of his 49 paintings. Slide the slider at the bottom over to the right and look for Wheatfields with House. Click on its thumbnail to enlarge. The gallery owner from whom I bought this said it was her favorite and that the colors are quite vibrant. That's what I love, and have a nice empty wall waiting for all its colors!

The other artist is a long-lost friend, Sherry Buckner. I just got 2 of her prints and have them at Steve's (my brother) who is going to help me frame them. They also have places in the apartment just waiting to be filled. If I remember, I will post pictures after these all get hung.

In the meantime, here's a picture I took at my cousins' cabin in September. Somehow I just love it and hope you do, too.

There.......I think that did a great job of improving my outlook!
