I would sure like this flu bug to quit lingering. It's strange how it will seem to be gone except..."oh, there's that post-nasal thing!" Or...."oh, I'm freaking exhausted!" I finally gave in and called my wonderful naturopathic magic doctor. She left something for me to pick up, UltraVir-X, which I started yesterday. Too soon to tell, but it just may be working. So I looked it up this a.m. and here's what I found: click me. Everything except snake oil. Please please please let it make me go back to normal.
I've been on an applesauce making roll....to me that is just the best smell in the world. So, with all the sauce on hand, I made up this delightful little thing for lunch the other day. After soup and salad with Susan, I wanted to have something slightly sweet but without sugar:
a hefty layer of applesauce
a big dollop of yogurt
chopped walnuts
chopped dried apricots
1/4 t. cinnamon.
stir well.
I let it sit for an hour but am not sure that's necessary. Also, the next time I made it, I added some chopped prunes, too. I liked it both ways, but the just-apricot version was a lot zingier.
Today I'm going to do a chicken thing in my new little slow-cooker. Will be gone most of the day and it'll be nice to come home to a cooked dinner.
I just realized this morning that I hadn't downloaded a bunch of pictures from New York so here are a couple. Happy girls, and applesauce making!
