I found a recipe for apple cranberry crisp on America's test kitchen site. Made it last night. It tastes good, and healthy as well! Make a jammy textured mix of raw cranberries, a little water and sugar on the stove. Takes about 10 minutes to thicken it up. Add this to your regular apple crisp along with some dried cranberries. Go ahead with your usual crisp method.
They also suggested using half Granny Smiths and half Braeburn, but I couldn't find Braeburn so used Pink Lady. It really made the whole thing look a little fake-y, like I'd put food coloring in, but I knew it was all natural so enjoyed the vivid colors!
Today I started my Christmas list and am feeling quite organized! Usually I don't do a thing until the last minute, which is usually too late, and then fall short of my intentions to find the perfect thing for each person. This year I just may have a solution....we'll see!
